You will need a public IP block when provisioning a Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) connection. You can request your public IP addresses before provisioning your connection or as part of the DIA provisioning process.
Request a Public IP block
Go to Build Your Network > Public IPs. Click Request IP and complete the following fields:| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Descriptive identifier (e.g., production-dia-ips-chicago). |
| Location | Metro location where IPs will be used. |
| IPv4 Size | You can select from the following: /29 = 8 usable IPs, /30 = 4 usable IPs/31 = 2 usable IPs |
| IPv6 Size | This is preselected at /64 and cannot be changed. A /64 block is the standard size for most IPv6 subnets because Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC) requires a /64, and it gives each interface a 64-bit host identifier (often derived from MAC or randomized). |
Use your IP blocks
View all assigned IP blocks in the Public IPs tab. When creating a DIA connection:- Select an existing IP block from your pool, or
- Click Request New during connection setup to provision a block on the fly
